The senior National team, Likuena, is named after the royal clan of Bakuena. Likuena, loosely translated as crocodiles in English is a youthful team that is made of players from the under 20 and under 23 National sides including the previous Likuena players.
Likuena, the pride of Basotho nation is a team that has great potential and is an investment in Lesotho football. It is groomed to qualify for the 2008 African Nation’s Cup and the World Cup in 2010. |

Last games In year 2000, Likuena pulled a brilliant perfomance whereby it was a finalist in the COSAFA Castle Cup. The deciding game was against Zimbabwe, score Lesotho lost 3-0 home, and 3-0 away. Coaches were Mr. Monyane and Mr. M. Matete while Mr. Masimong was Goal Keeper Coach. In these games which were played in Zambia (June 2005) Lesotho lost 2-1 to Malawi. |
